Eve McIntyre
I am an experienced CBT Psychotherapist (BABCP) and EMDR Practitioner. I can support you with feelings of Depression, Anxiety and Trauma. People I work with will often share that their difficulties with their mental health are leaving them feeling stuck and experience a sense of loss in their identity. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) are both evidencebased approaches recommended for Depression, Anxiety and PTSD and can be highly beneficial.
We can consider how these approaches may be best suited to you based on the area you would like support with and tailor the therapy to you. I have a supportive, warm and thoughtful therapeutic style. I value collaboration in the therapy I deliver, this enables me to be alongside you whilst leaving space for you to feel empowered and set the pace. I offer both online and in person appointments Tuesday to Friday from The Cleve, Wellington.
Training and Experience
I completed my training as a CBT Psychotherapist with the University of Exeter between January 2019 - 2020. I have worked within mental health services since 2011. My experience is varied and includes research, voluntary work with MIND, NHS Forensic Mental Health and NHS Talking Therapy services. I have been honoured to have worked alongside so many individuals during this time. In addition to the therapeutic work I deliver I supervise CBT Therapists and am a Clinical Supervisor at the University of Reading.
I am eager to continue to evolve as a therapist, I engage in regular CPD training and supervision. For example, in addition to my core training in CBT and EMDR I have attended training for Compassion Focussed Therapy, Chairwork, Rumination focussed CBT and Attachment Informed EMDR. This ensures I continue to deliver high quality, current, evidence-based therapy.
